Shiro – Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using the Shiro application ("the Service"), operated by FREEDOMAI PRIVATE LIMITED ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.

2. Description and Use of the Service

Shiro is an AI-powered journaling and reflection platform that allows users to record and reflect on their personal experiences through text, images, and voice entries.

You agree to use the Service only in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to anyone who misuses the Service or violates our policies.

3. User Content

You retain full ownership of any intellectual property rights to the content you create ("User Content"), including your text entries, voice recordings, and uploaded images.

By submitting content to Shiro, you grant us a limited, encrypted right to store, process, and protect your data for the sole purpose of providing the Service.

All sensitive data is AES-encrypted in our databases, ensuring that even our developers cannot access your private journal content. We will never use, sell, publish, or distribute your User Content for any purpose outside of providing and maintaining the Service.

4. Subscription and Payment Terms

Certain features of Shiro are available on a subscription basis ("Pro" or similar plans). By subscribing, you agree to the following terms:

Billing

Subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis according to your selected plan. Unless canceled, your subscription automatically renews at the end of each term.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. No refunds are provided for the current billing period, but you will retain access to paid features until the period ends. In-app cancellations must be done through the relevant app store (Apple App Store or Google Play).

Payment Processing

All payments are handled through secure third-party processors such as Stripe, Apple, or Google. By using these platforms, you also agree to their respective terms and conditions.

Price Changes

We may change subscription fees from time to time. Any changes will take effect after your current billing period ends, and you will be notified in advance.

Refunds

Except where required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable. For in-app purchases, refund requests are governed by the respective app store's policies.

Free Trials & Promotions

We may offer limited-time free trials or promotional discounts. These are subject to change or termination at any time. If you do not cancel before a free trial ends, standard billing will apply.

5. Modifications and Termination

We continually improve Shiro and may update, add, or remove features at any time. We may also suspend or discontinue the Service with prior notice when possible.

If we terminate the Service, your encrypted content will remain inaccessible but may be permanently deleted after a reasonable retention period.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided on an "as-is" and "as available" basis. We make no express or implied warranties regarding reliability, security, or fitness for a particular purpose.

While we use encryption and best security practices, no digital system can be guaranteed 100% secure.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, FREEDOMAI PRIVATE LIMITED shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages arising from your use of Shiro — including, but not limited to, loss of data, emotional distress, or business interruption.

8. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless FREEDOMAI PRIVATE LIMITED, its affiliates, employees, and partners from any claims, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

9. Privacy and Data Protection

All sensitive data stored within Shiro is encrypted using industry-standard AES encryption, and we do not share or sell user data to third parties.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Singapore, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions.

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the law or improvements to our Service. We will notify users of any material changes via in-app notice or email. Continued use of Shiro after such updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
